In older age, it is important to monitor several organ systems together. In this panel, a complete blood count and sedimentation rate, blood sugar, HbA1c, insulin and C-peptide, the cholesterol profile, liver and kidney function, bilirubin, protein and albumin, CK and CK-MB, and electrolytes are tested together.
Iron stores, vitamins D and B12, folic acid and zinc show nutritional status; thyroid hormones and antibodies show thyroid function; and fibrinogen and D-dimer show blood clotting. ASO, CRP, rheumatoid factor, total IgE and a complete urinalysis are also included in the panel. Your sample is collected at your home; it is recommended that you review your results with your doctor.
