Insurance and paymentAbout this panel
Allergy can be linked to many different sources, such as foods, pollens, house dust mites, animal dander, molds, insect venoms and latex. The ALEX Allergy Panel brings together, in a single blood draw, tests that help investigate which allergens your symptoms may be linked to.
In the panel, the ALEX² Allergy Test measures specific IgE to 295 allergens and total IgE; molecular component analysis can help distinguish true sensitization from cross-reactivity. The Complete Blood Count (CBC) provides a general blood assessment that also includes the eosinophil count, which can rise in allergic conditions.
A positive specific IgE result alone is not a diagnosis of allergy, and a negative result does not rule out every allergy. You are advised to review your results with your doctor and not to restrict your diet on your own based on the results. In the event of a sudden, severe reaction such as shortness of breath, swelling of the lips or throat, or fainting, call 112 without delay.
