Home healthcare services in Istanbul
A lab test, a prescribed injection, a dressing after surgery or care for an elderly loved one: needs vary widely, yet many of them can be met wherever you are. Home healthcare services provide this support, from diagnosis to rehabilitation, without you having to travel. The home healthcare service you need is planned anywhere in Istanbul and, depending on the type of service, comes to your home, office or hotel address.
Diagnostic services: lab tests, screening and imaging
Diagnostic services gather the information your doctor needs to make a decision. With blood draw at home, a nurse collects your blood sample at your address; for a urine test at home, a sterile sample container is brought to you. If your doctor has also requested other samples, such as stool or swabs, the on-site laboratory service collects them all in a single visit. Samples are analyzed in an accredited laboratory, the cold chain is maintained on the way to the lab, and you receive your results digitally.
When an MRI, X-ray or CT scan is ordered, our imaging with patient transfer service means we pick up a patient who has difficulty getting around at their home, take them to the imaging center and bring them back home after the scan. If you have no complaints but want to see where your general health stands, you can have a comprehensive check with health screening at home.
Services at home and at the workplace: from treatment to care
With IV drip at home and injections at home, a nurse administers the medication on your prescription by the route your physician has specified; the nurse at home service, meanwhile, carries out tasks such as measurements, medication schedules and post-operative follow-up according to a plan. Wound care and dressing at home is planned for a pressure ulcer (bedsore), a diabetic foot or a surgical incision that is slow to heal.
Urinary catheter insertion and replacement, bladder irrigation, tracheostomy care and tube change are also specialized procedures that nurses carry out at home under sterile conditions. When daily-living support such as bathing, dressing, eating and companionship is needed, our home care service, which covers elderly and patient care, steps in.
Specialist consultation and rehabilitation
The services in this group are based on a specialist's assessment and often involve more than one session. During a doctor home visit, the physician examines you and decides whether further tests, medication or another service is needed.
If an orthopedic or neurological problem has limited your mobility, physiotherapy at home is planned on your doctor's recommendation; the physiotherapist prepares an exercise program tailored to you. A dietitian at home adjusts your diet to your health condition and daily routine, while a psychologist at home offers psychological support in your own space, with confidentiality as a guiding principle.
Which home healthcare service is right for you?
Describing your need in a single sentence makes it easier to choose the right service. The matches below offer a starting point:
- If your doctor has ordered lab tests, blood draw at home or urine test at home is enough; if different types of samples are needed, choose the on-site laboratory service.
- If you need regular measurements, medication monitoring or dressings after being discharged from hospital, nurse at home and wound care can be planned together.
- If your loved one needs support with daily tasks, consider home care; if they have lost mobility, consider physiotherapy at home.
- If an MRI, X-ray or CT scan has been ordered for a patient who has difficulty leaving home, imaging with patient transfer lets you make an accompanied trip to the imaging center and back.
- If you want to adjust your diet or talk to a professional during a difficult time, take a look at our dietitian at home and psychologist at home services.
If the cause of your symptoms is unclear, or you cannot decide between several services, starting with a physician's assessment is often the right step. After a doctor home visit, any tests and procedures needed can be added to the same plan. Home healthcare services are for planned needs; if a situation suggests a life-threatening condition, the first choice is always 112.
Home, office and hotel: where is the service provided?
For many services, the address does not have to be a home. For blood draws, urine tests, the on-site laboratory service, IV drips, injections, nursing, wound care and doctor visits, you can also give an office or hotel address; details of hotel visits are on our healthcare at your hotel page. Health screening and dietitian sessions, on the other hand, are scheduled at home or at the office.
Home care, urinary catheter insertion, tracheostomy care, physiotherapy and psychologist sessions are provided only at home; with imaging with patient transfer, too, the patient is picked up from home and brought back home. Your address may be in Beylikdüzü, Kartal or any other corner of the city; every one of the 39 districts in Istanbul is within our service area. For district-specific information, see our service areas page.
How does the process work, from request to follow-up?
The process starts with the request you send through the online form or our 24/7 call center; the steps are described in detail on our how it works page. Once your request reaches us, our team calls you within 3 min on average for a preliminary phone consultation; your needs, any doctor's order or prescription, your address and a time that suits you are confirmed during this call. For services provided through your private health insurance, we obtain the insurer's pre-approval and do not charge a co-payment; for chargeable services outside insurance coverage, the fee is clearly shared before the process begins. A same-day visit can also be scheduled; this depends on the team's schedule that day.
At the agreed time, a healthcare professional or caregiver suited to the service comes to your address. If an IV drip or medication is to be administered, the nurse verifies your identity, prescription, the medication, the dose and the expiration date before starting. Sterile, single-use supplies are used for procedures, and medical waste is not left at your address. Then follow-up begins: results and reports are shared, follow-up visits are scheduled if needed, and the plan is updated together with your doctor as your needs change.
Services are provided under a Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health license and within the framework of health regulations; your health information is protected in accordance with KVKK. You don't need to know in advance which service you need; the Curavita Evde Sağlık team listens to your situation during the preliminary call and determines the right service together with you.
